School Council
Welcome to our School Council page
A school council is a group of students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school.

The school council meets – with Mrs Smith and Mrs Clasper –to discuss and sort out problems. These may include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events. Members of the school council will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as: planning discos, writing newspaper articles or meeting with catering staff.

22.09.23 – The School Council have decided that they would like our Harvest Gifts to be donated to Consett Foodbank this year. What a great decision!
6.10.23 – The School Council asked today if they could have a ‘Movie Club’ as one of the after school clubs next half term. Good news! Mrs Smith will lead this club for Infants and Juniors in November.
24.10.23 – Y3/4 and Y5/6 have asked if they could be the first for lunch on a Friday. We have agreed to give it a trial run this week and see how it goes!
27.10.23 – This week, the School Council have asked if they could arrange a pyjama day to raise money for the broken clock at St. Ebba’s Church – this will be something we can organise for next half term.
They also asked if the Buddies could help to guide the Reception and Y1 pupils back to class after playtime and lunchtime break. We think this is an excellent idea – a definite yes!
