Vision
At Ebchester CE Primary School, we believe that art stimulated creativity, imagination and inventiveness. It gives pupils the skills, concepts and knowledge necessary for them to express responses and experiences. Providing high quality art and design engages, inspires and challenges children, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. Art is taught, and enrichment experiences provided, so that children can communicate what they see, feel and think. Self evaluation of work is encouraged and children are taught how to be resilient when working towards achieving their goals. By the end of their time at Ebchester CE Primary School, pupils will be proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art and craft techniques. They will have knowledge of great artists, craft makers and designers, becoming critical citizens with a rigorous understanding of art and design. They will also know how art and deign both reflect and shape our history and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.
