Vision

At Ebchester CE Primary School, we aim to teach French to all of our children in a fun and interactive way as part of an outstanding learning experience. In Key Stage One this will be mainly carried out through the use of song and rhyme before progressing to more structured lessons in Key Stage Two. Our curriculum enables pupils to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers both in speech and writing. Children will have the opportunity to study a range of purposeful topics, build up their fluency and become more confident in communicating with others. We also want to encourage our children to become aware of other cultures and languages around them so that they leave Ebchester CE Primary School as responsible, resilient, happy citizens with a good understanding of the French language, French speaking countries and their cultures.
